When nobody is watching, Venice Architecture Biennale

Landscapes of alloyed, erased and otherwise histories are drawn.

About

In this 4-channel video installation, presented at the Venice Architecture Bienniale, the paths of two distinctly conceived and realised politics, distilled in public spaces in South Africa are traced. Through conversations between distinct geographies and places, and cultural producers born at the turn of democracy; landscapes of alloyed, erased and otherwise histories are drawn.

Each film is projected at 2m x 2m, with contrasting voices and spaces facing each other; producing a set of larger than life perspectives, voices, implied dialogue and entanglements.
